
The results of the Women TechEU initiative have recently been published. This programme is aimed at deep tech start-ups with female founders or co-founders who also hold a senior management position (CEO, CTO or equivalent).
Among the 50 selected companies are five Italian firms, including one from Lombardy: BiomimX SRL, an innovative start-up whose technology enables 3D cell culture and integrates a controlled mechanical stimulation system. This technological solution allows for the creation of functional, mature, miniature replicas of human organs suitable for conducting tests on the toxicity and efficacy of pharmacological compounds.

Given the success of the initiative, the Commission has decided to allocate a budget of 10 million euros for 2022, which will allow for the funding of approximately 130 companies.
