The European Commission has published the list of beneficiaries of the EIC Accelerator programme for the 9 October 2019 deadline, the first to feature blended finance (the option to request a grant plus equity or a grant only). Out of 1,852 proposals received, 75 were selected for funding, representing a success rate of 4%.

In this round, Italy has 3 funded companies and projects.

Among the three winning Italian companies is a Lombard business: Diapath Spa, based in Martinengo in the province of Bergamo, which opted for the grant plus equity option.

La Svizzera e l’Israele sono stati i primi paesi per numero di progetti finanziati (9 per entrambi), seguiti dalla Francia e dalla Germania (7 progetti ciascuno).

Regarding blended finance, the majority (39) of the winning companies opted for and were awarded this funding model, while the remaining 36 will benefit from the grant-only option as requested.

The next deadline for submitting projects to this programme is 8 January.
