Technology and innovation: 2025 mission to Japan for Smart Factory & Robotics

The EU-Japan Centre is organising a new business mission to coincide with the Factory Innovation Week trade fair, which will take place in January 2025 in Tokyo, Japan.
The initiative aims to explore partnership opportunities with Japanese companies and gain insights into the local market.
The event will be held from 21 to 24 January 2025 and will focus on innovation in Smart Factories, with particular attention to sectors such as artificial intelligence, industrial robotics, and sustainable manufacturing solutions.

The objectives of the mission are as follows:

  • to explore and create partnership opportunities with Japanese companies;
  • to acquire detailed knowledge of the Japanese market;
  • to facilitate cooperation with Japanese counterparts.

The initiative is open to individuals working for SMEs or Clusters based in the European Union or a country associated with the Single Market Programme, SME Pillar.

Furthermore, applicants must specialise in one of the following sectors:

  • artificial intelligence (AI),
  • internet of robotic things (IoRT),
  • industrial robots,
  • robot components and materials,
  • smart factory equipment and autonomous transport,
  • remote monitoring and operational support,
  • sustainable manufacturing solutions.

Candidates will be evaluated based on their corporate strategy regarding Japan, the innovative aspects of the product/technology/service offered, and its relevance to the trade fair.
A total of 12 companies will be selected.
