Smart Specialisation Strategy

In order to meet the prerequisites for accessing the 2014-2020 EU funding programme, the Lombardy Region’s Smart Specialisation Strategy was approved by the Regional Executive in 2014.
The objective is to implement an integrated and sustainable development strategy, based on the selection of concrete and achievable priorities linked to particularly promising and challenging application areas. Resources are concentrated on these areas in a continuous search for credible solutions to the needs of businesses and society as a whole.
The strategic value of the document also lies in its dynamic and "in progress" nature, remaining open to updates and adjustments in line with the natural institutional and socio-economic changes within the relevant context. Consequently, the strategy is subject to continuous updating, with the latest version dating from the end of April 2015.
