The second call for the EENergy project has been officially launched. This initiative is funded by the European Union under the Single Market Programme (SMP) and aims to support European SMEs in improving energy efficiency and reducing operating costs.
EENergy involves at least 1,800 SMEs, which will receive support through sustainability advisory services provided by the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). Of these, 900 SMEs will benefit from direct financial grants, while the others will continue to receive targeted consultancy.
The first call, launched in spring 2024, recorded over 1,400 eligible applications and enabled 671 SMEs to access the funding required to initiate energy efficiency activities.
In the second call, the project will select at least 460 beneficiary SMEs, with 229 SMEs receiving direct grants of up to €10,000 each to fund energy efficiency initiatives. Particular attention will be paid to businesses in energy-intensive sectors, with at least 67 SMEs selected from these fields.
The total budget for this second call is €2.29 million, which will be allocated fairly and transparently. The funds, which are exempt from State aid rules due to European Union funding via the SMP programme, will allow SMEs to implement concrete energy-saving measures aimed at improving business performance and reducing consumption.
Interested SMEs may submit their applications until 28 February 2025.
