
The European Commission has published the report summarising the results of the consultation launched last October to gather input for the Horizon 2020 interim evaluation process.
The consultation received nearly 3,500 responses, with 20% coming from the industrial sector, representing 69 different countries, and approximately 300 position papers, including those prepared by BusinessEurope, "BusinessEurope Comments on Horizon 2020 Interim Evaluation", and Confindustria, "Confindustria Comments on Horizon 2020 Interim Evaluation".
The report confirms a positive assessment of the programme, with particular reference to the simplification of procedures, the dissemination of scientific excellence and the opportunity to develop collaborative projects.
Areas identified for improvement include the need to increase the programme's budget,greater support for market-oriented innovation and increased clarity in the evaluation of proposals.
