PITCCH Network: new opportunities for SMEs and Startups

The PITCCH Network, which aims to promote collaboration between large enterprises seeking excellent technologies and SMEs and Startups capable of developing innovative solutions, has recently launched four new challenges:

  • Exploring new Energy Aggregation Solutions for Galp: Peer 2 Peer energy trading – GALP is an energy company operating in Portugal and Spain. It is seeking a digital solution to support the implementation of new business models for the aggregation of Distributed Energy Resources that add value to its current portfolio.
  • Challenge by Eternis Fine Chemicals: Creating value through biotransformation of 'aroma waste' – Eternis is a global manufacturer of aroma and fragrance compounds. The company aims to valorise the by-product generated during the production process, which is currently incinerated. It is seeking a technology that reduces the volume of this material, thereby lowering greenhouse gas emissions and their environmental footprint.
  • Challenge by Repsol: Valorization of lignin to chemicals or materials in an integrated biorefinery – Repsol is a multinational energy company. It is seeking a technology for the conversion of lignin, which is currently used in biorefineries to generate energy for the production process. As this is a chemically valuable and complex material, the company is looking for alternatives to convert lignin into products or materials that improve plant performance without increasing its environmental footprint.
  • Challenge by MANN+HUMMEL GmbH: Aerosol sensor to detect harmful pesticide concentrations in vehicle cabins – MANN+HUMMEL is a world leader in filtration technology, seeking an SME or Startup capable of developing a sensor to detect critical pesticide concentrations inside the cabins of tractors and other agricultural vehicles, capable of distinguishing between regular aerosols (e.g. water droplets) and hazardous pesticide aerosols. This will be an essential component of cabin air quality monitoring systems, controlling the ventilation system, detecting air filter status, and providing maintenance recommendations.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 19 April.
