On 28 June, the conference "Lombard businesses in the world: how and where" was held in Milan. The event saw the presentation of the 2017 regional survey results on the internationalisation of Lombard businesses, conducted by Confindustria Lombardia through its Research Centre and Market and Internationalisation Committees. The survey covered a total sample of approximately 1,200 companies, with scientific input from SDA Bocconi and support from BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas.
The conference was also attended by the Undersecretary for Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto, and the Vice President of the Lombardy Region, Fabrizio Sala.
The survey highlights the high level of internationalisation among Lombard businesses, which is consistent across all territories, as well as their dynamic and flexible approach to adapting to new markets. Germany, France and Spain are the preferred markets for internationalisation, while Russia, India and Iran are the countries where they aim to expand in the coming years.
The objective of the survey was to analyse the international strategies pursued by Lombard businesses, assess their propensity and performance, and identify their requirements for services and support.
The documentation presented during the conference is attached.
