Up2Stars scouting and acceleration programme for startups: applications now open for the "Water Tech" category

The second edition of Up2Stars has begun, an initiative dedicated to the growth of innovative startups created through the collaboration between Intesa Sanpaolo and Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, with the support of the innovation platform GELLIFY.

The initiative is aimed at activating a scouting and acceleration programme for innovative startups, whether Italian or foreign but with at least one operational office in Italy, registered in the appropriate register or otherwise established for less than 5 years.

The acceleration programme (maximum duration of 40 days) is provided by the partner accelerator Gellify srl a socio unico, and includes phases of assessment, coaching and training.

The initiative is divided into 4 categories:

  1. Water Tech: water collection and reuse, soil and water infrastructure management, new technologies (applications open until 11 June 2023)
  2. Renewable energy and energy efficiency: new energy sources, solutions for energy efficiency, recovery and reuse, and CO2 capture (applications from September 2023)
  3. Artificial intelligence for business transformation: human capital management, data protection, ESG, support for sales, administration, finance and control processes (applications from November 2023)
  4. IoT, infrastructure and mobility: smart cities, IoT for the management of local resources and sustainable mobility, new technologies (applications from January 2024)

For the Water Tech category, the areas of participation are:

• Protection of natural buffers: solutions against flood risks, extreme weather events and coastal erosion.

• Rainwater harvesting: solutions to slow down water runoff, reduce soil erosion and increase groundwater recharge.

• Soil management: technologies for measuring soil moisture for proper irrigation, and conservation techniques to improve organic matter and increase soil moisture retention.

• Wastewater reuse: wastewater treatment systems for use in agricultural, industrial and municipal contexts.

• Improvement of water infrastructure: segmentation and digitisation solutions for water networks to improve monitoring and consumption; solutions to prevent, detect and resolve leaks in the water network.

• Water production with new technologies: water extraction from air (solutions for independence from the water grid in critical contexts and arid zones); desalination technologies (to make seawater usable for civil and industrial purposes).

Attached is the text of the Participation Regulations.
