Eurostars programme: new call for project proposals now open

The 21 January will mark the opening of the application window for project submissions under the Eurostars Programme.

The Eurostars Programme, funded by the 37 countries within the EUREKA Network and the European Union, is dedicated to supporting transnational research and development projects aimed at creating innovative products, processes and services with a strong market orientation across all sectors (excluding military applications).

Participation in the Programme is open to innovative SMEs, universities, research organisations and large enterprises. The consortium submitting a proposal must meet the following requirements:

  • the lead partner must be an innovative SME from a participating country;
  • the consortium must consist of at least two independent partners;
  • the consortium must include entities from at least two Eurostars participating countries, with at least one partner from a EUREKA Network member or associated country;
  • no single partner or country may be responsible for more than 70% of the total budget;
  • the budget of the participating SMEs must account for at least 50% of the total.
  • the project duration must be 36 months or less.

As the Programme is co-funded by the European Commission and national funds, eligible costs and funding amounts vary depending on the countries involved in the project (the body responsible for Italy is the Ministry of Education, University and Research).

The deadline for submitting applications is 24 March.

Further information regarding eligibility criteria, application submission and the evaluation procedure is available in the attached document.
