Please be advised that from 22 February it is possible to submit project proposals for 8 new calls under the EU4Health Programme, the primary funding instrument for European Union health initiatives for the 2021-2027 period, with a budget of over 5 billion euros.
The currently open calls aim to:
- Monitor and strengthen the implementation of innovative European approaches to prostate, lung and stomach cancer screening, by sharing knowledge and best practices to design, plan and further improve screening. The budget available is 30 million euros.
- Prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs) other than cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, with an available budget of 5 million euros.
- Promote mental health, by raising awareness, sharing knowledge and fostering capacity building in the sector. The budget available is 8 million euros.
- Support the implementation of the Health Technology Assessment Regulation - training patients and clinical experts who contribute to the joint assessment activities of these technological solutions, with an available budget of 1 million euros.
- Increase the number of medical devices, with an available budget of 4 million euros.
- Provide training for healthcare personnel, fostering professional growth through courses delivered in collaboration with professional associations, educational centres and other relevant organisations. The budget available is 29 million euros.
- Support Member States and other relevant stakeholders in implementing public health research findings related to COVID-19 vaccination, with an available budget of 30 million euros.
- Develop early warning and guidance systems in the pricing sector via the EURIPID database, based on competition cases, with an available budget of three hundred thousand euros.
Financial contributions allocated by the Programme, which may be provided in the form of grants, prizes and procurement, may cover up to 60% of eligible costs and, in certain exceptional cases, up to 80% of eligible costs. Applications for funding may be submitted by public or private entities with legal personality. The deadline for the submission of project proposals is 24 May. Further information is available here.
