The European Commission has recently published the list of 10 selected projects following the closure of the second call for the European Light Industries Innovation and Technology (ELIIT) project, part of the COSME programme.
ELIIT aims to increase the competitiveness of SMEs operating in the textile, clothing, leather and footwear sectors, by funding partnerships between companies and providers or owners of innovative technologies. The selected projects will focus on three themes: circular economy and resource efficiency; high-performance and innovative materials; digitalised value chains and business models.
The beneficiaries include eight Italian companies, of which three are based in Lombardy. Each partnership will receive financial support of 70,000 euros, to be used for the development of high value-added products or prototypes.
Companies will also be able to benefit from specialised consultancy, networking activities and workshops aimed at improving their productivity, supply chain integration and resource use, as well as assistance regarding the protection of intellectual property.
