Made in Italy Blockchain Project

The kick-off meeting for the Ministry of Economic Development's Pilot Project to promote the use of blockchain technology for the protection of Made in Italy products was held on 13 March.

The project involves a feasibility study that will serve as a foundational model for key Made in Italy sectors, with a focus on supply chain traceability, consumer certification of product origin, anti-counterfeiting measures, and ensuring the social and environmental sustainability of Made in Italy production.

The project will commence with a pilot programme for the textile and clothing supply chain, followed by an exploration and design thinking phase to identify specific use cases, and concluding with a summary report on feasibility conditions for the sector's supply chains based on the findings of the exploration.
