The Power-Gen Europe 2016 international trade fair, dedicated to the energy sector with a particular focus on renewables, was successfully held at the MiCo in Milan from 21 to 23 June.
Over the course of the three days, Confindustria Lombardia promoted various initiatives for businesses as part of the Enterprise Europe Network’s activities and in close collaboration with the Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster.
To mark the opening of the fair on 21 June, a networking cocktail was held at the UniCredit Tower, co-organised with partners UniCredit and Penwell. The event opened with addresses from Glenn Ensor, Managing Director of Penwell, Luciano Cenedese, Head of the UniCredit International Center Italy, and Ginangelo Mainini, President of the Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster, who outlined the key opportunities for internationalisation and synergies within the energy sector, while Carmen Disanto, Project Manager for the Enterprise Europe Network, presented the internationalisation services provided by the EEN to support businesses.
The event was attended by approximately 150 guests, including companies, universities, and associations, with a significant presence of international firms. It served as a prestigious opportunity for networking and the exchange of best practices between companies and other prominent stakeholders in the energy sector.
On the final day, the conference titled “Dispersed Generation & Microgrids: the new backbone of the electric system” was held at the MiCo, co-organised with the LE2C cluster and RSE as part of the EEN network’s activities. The aim of the meeting was to present the main innovations and new challenges in the energy sector and to provide a forum for discussion with major companies and energy market experts, as well as to showcase best practices from both LE2C member companies and others.
Alongside the conference, companies had the opportunity to hold B2B meetings, organised in collaboration with the International Cleantech Network.
