1st Edition of the Space Olympics - The Space Generation Games

To mark National Space Day, on 16 December 2021, the National Aerospace Technology Cluster (CTNA) is launching the first edition of the Space Olympics, aimed at students in lower and upper secondary education, an age group where there is a need to choose a specific path to successfully plan their professional future.

In each of these fields, Italy demonstrates culture, technology and innovation with expertise and high-level profiles that are recognised by the entire space community.

Discovering talent and developing skills is a task that teachers can begin through gamification, an effective tool for expanding knowledge while having fun. Through a thematic competition consisting of three challenges, students will embark on a journey focused on planetary exploration. At the end of the day, the winners will be announced and awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals.

The initiative, aimed at attracting future talent to the sector, is supported by Leonardo and Sapienza, with the patronage of ASI, INAF, Thales Alenia Space, Telespazio, as well as the aerospace districts of Lombardy, through the Lombardia Aerospace Cluster, and those of Campania, Piedmont, and Lazio Innova.
