LIFE is the European programme dedicated to the environment and climate action for the 2014-2020 seven-year period, with a total budget of 3.4 billion euros.
The new LIFE calls for proposals were published on 4 April 2019, based on the LIFE multiannual work programme for the 2018-2020 period, published by the European Commission.
The LIFE programme consists of two sub-programmes, one dedicated to the Environment (75% of the total financial contribution) and one dedicated to Climate Action (25% of the total financial contribution).
The Commission is particularly interested in funding close-to-market projects, i.e. new solutions with clear benefits for the environment and climate, and with a technological and business maturity level that allows the solution to be implemented under close-to-market conditions.
