New EU Gateway Business Avenues calls for applications

Please note that the European Commission, through the EU Gateway | Business Avenues project and with the support of the Enterprise Europe Network, is organising the following missions to Asia:

  • mission to China in the food safety sector, from 15 to 19 May 2017; application deadline: 20 January 2017; For information and registration click here
  • mission to Thailand and Singapore in the ICT sector, from 22 to 27 May 2017; application deadline: 3 February 2017; For information and registration click here
  • mission to South Korea in the Environment & water technologies sector from 3 to 7 July 2017; application deadline: 17 March 2017. For information and registration click here.
  • mission to South Korea in the sector "Processed organic food and beverages products ONLY", from 23 to 27 October 2017; application deadline 19 May 2017. For information and registration click here

Companies with the following characteristics are eligible to apply:

  • At least 5 years of operation and the ability to provide financial data for the last 3 years
  • Majority or fully European-owned capital
  • Headquartered in an EU Member State
  • Sufficient turnover and number of employees to successfully enter the target market
  • Evidence of having already undertaken international collaborations (outside the EU)
  • The company is a manufacturer, sub-contractor, research and development firm, or engineering company (not a business consultancy)

For the mission to China, the following is also required:

  • A turnover preferably exceeding €10 million
  • Evidence of having already undertaken collaborations outside the EU, and preferably in China (or Asia)
  • A solid market strategy, in addition to financial capacity and adequate human resources (number and experience of staff) to successfully enter the Chinese market

Successful applicants will be offered the opportunity to participate in a 5-day mission to the target country. The package includes standard services such as coaching before, during, and after the business mission, the organisation of one-to-one meetings with local companies, and logistical and promotional support. These core services will be 100% co-funded, and accommodation expenses will also be covered up to a maximum of €1,000 (one room per company).

Participants will also be able to benefit from additional personalised services (advice on legal matters and certifications; interpreting services; assistance with the translation and printing of company brochures and documentation; and legal information on potential business partners in the target market). For these activities, companies will benefit from 80% co-funding, up to a maximum of €1,000.
