
The Clean Sky 2 Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) has published its fourth call for proposals under the Horizon 2020 programme.
The CLEAN SKY 2 Joint Technology Initiative is a public-private partnership between the European Commission and leading aeronautical industries, aimed at developing innovative technologies to improve the environmental performance of aircraft, thereby enabling the sustainable development of the air transport system.
With a budget of €47.92 million distributed across 57 topics, the call aims to select partners and fund Research and Innovation Actions (RIA) (100% co-funding rate) and Innovation Actions (IA) (70% co-funding rate) that address the needs identified by the JTI Steering Committees regarding "Integrated Technology Demonstrators" (ITDs) and "Innovative Aircraft Demonstrator Platforms" (IADPs).
Research and Innovation Actions (RIA) are defined as activities aimed at producing new knowledge and/or verifying the feasibility of a new or improved technology, product, service, or solution.
Innovation Actions (IA), by contrast, are activities aimed directly at producing plans, projects, or designs for new or improved products, processes, or services.
