This autumn, more than 120 projects will be funded through the LIFE programme and its sub-programmes for Environment and Climate Action. The total funding will amount to approximately €240 million for the areas of Nature and Biodiversity, Environment and Resource Efficiency, and Climate Action.
These projects will address a wide range of issues, including invasive species, pollutants, the use of fossil fuels and their derivatives, and greenhouse gas emissions. One third of the topics focus on the mitigation and management of the effects of climate change. This broad range of subjects will contribute to the European Green Deal, a programme to be developed by the incoming Commission with the aim of making Europe a climate-neutral continent.
