Horizon Europe Missions: dedicated info days in January

The objective is to develop interdisciplinary innovative solutions by 2030 to support the realisation of some of the most important European priorities (European Green Deal, Europe fit for the Digital Age, Europe’s Beating Cancer Action Plan, An economy that works for people) in five areas:

  • Adaptation to Climate Change: the aim is to make the entire European territory and its inhabitants more resilient to climate change, supporting at least 150 regions and communities in adopting adaptation actions that increase their resilience.
  • Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030: to achieve climate neutrality, it is essential to preserve marine and freshwater environments; the purpose of the actions undertaken in this area is to restore the marine and freshwater ecosystem.
  • Beating Cancer: the actions undertaken in this area aim to improve patients' quality of life and prevent the further spread of cancer by optimising diagnostics and treatment.
  • 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart cities by 2030: although they occupy only 4% of the Union's territory, cities are responsible for over 70% of global CO2 emissions and 65% of global energy consumption. Therefore, the objective of this area is to support 100 European cities during their climate and smart transition, so that they may serve as an example and a driving force for all others.

Following the publication of the Work Programme for the 2021-2022 period in June, the Commission has scheduled two information days on 18 and 19 January to provide all interested stakeholders with initial guidance regarding the 2022 calls. Further information and the info days programme are available here.
