Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships: new record for proposals

The Research Executive Agency (REA) has received 9,875 proposals in response to the three Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships calls that closed on 11 September. The available budget – amounting to just over 300 million euros – will be used to provide grant funding for researchers across all scientific disciplines.

Part of this budget - 6 million euros - is earmarked to provide financial support to researchers wishing to conduct their research activities in one of the widening countries, specifically those member states or countries associated with the Horizon 2020 programme that demonstrate low performance in R&D.

This significant result in terms of participation confirms the growing interest in a research programme - part of Horizon 2020 - which once again proves to be one of the most important and competitive post-doctoral funding schemes in the world.

Regarding the evaluation process, the REA will be supported by approximately 400 experts: the results will be announced by February 2020, while the signing of Grant Agreements with the successful applicants is expected before May of the same year.
