The final EUSALP General Assembly of the Tyrol presidency concluded in Innsbruck on 21 November.
On this occasion, the Lombardy Regional Minister for the Environment, Raffaele Cattaneo, presented the programme of initiatives to the members of the Alpine Macro-region that the Lombardy Region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the remaining partner regions intend to implement from 2019, when the Alpine Macro-region presidency passes to Italy, coordinated by Lombardy.
The seven Italian regions participating in the EUSALP programme (Lombardy, Piedmont, Aosta Valley, Liguria, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino-Alto Adige) and the two autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano intend to base their year of presidency on promoting and creating new job opportunities, particularly in youth entrepreneurship, within the green economy and innovative technology sectors, through the development of connectivity and the improvement of energy efficiency in building stock and corporate production processes.
Finally, the World Manufacturing Forum, which will be held permanently in Lombardy from 2019 onwards, will play a central role in attracting interest and providing visibility for the region.
The first event of the Italian presidency will take place in Milan on 26-27 February 2019.
