On Wednesday 11 May, the seminar “Industrial Modernisation: the Alpine Macroregion as a driver for the European industry of tomorrow" was held at the Lombardy Region delegation office to the EU; this was the first workshop to take place following the official launch of the EUSALP Strategy in Brdo in January 2016.
The initiative was attended by European institutions, numerous trade associations, and representatives from the regions involved in EUSALP, including the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and the Tyrol Region, as well as the European representations of Carinthia and Saxony.
The speakers provided significant and practical insights, with particular reference to the Vanguard method and the definition of tools and policies to support the growth of EUSALP.
The roundtable, which included representatives from the European Commission (DG REGIO, DG GROW, and DG RTD), the French Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and the Joint Research Centre, explored the topic of financial and policy synergies to support innovation within EUSALP.
The President of Confindustria Lombardia, Alberto Ribolla, concluded by stating, "EUSALP is one of the most highly developed areas in the world: we must leverage this by connecting the various regions to compete on a global scale," while reiterating the commitment made by Confindustria Lombardia to support the Alpine Macroregion.
