SMEs and information regarding their credit status

As part of the Enterprise Europe Network activities, Confindustria Lombardia is promoting this consultation to enable businesses to share their experiences and perspectives with the Commission, thereby actively contributing to the development of European policies that affect them.

The European Commission is working to facilitate access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). One obstacle is the lack of information, particularly regarding credit status, which is necessary to assess their reliability. The Commission has already consulted various stakeholders, including business and investor associations, commercial credit information providers, and credit rating agencies.

It is now seeking input from SMEs. The following questions will help determine whether and how small and medium-sized enterprises are financed by sources other than banks, and the role played by credit information in this regard. The responses will be used to help improve SME access to finance.

The consultation, which is open to SMEs in all sectors, is based on a short QUESTIONNAIRE to be returned to Confindustria Lombardia by 24 July 2015 via email (een1@confindustria.lombardia.it).
