The European Innovation Council (EIC) has announced the selection of 45 new projects that will receive funding totalling up to €138 million, through the Pathfinder Open 2024 call. These projects focus on cutting-edge technologies across various sectors, including health, artificial intelligence, computing, the environment, and energy.

The selected projects were chosen from 1,110 evaluated proposals and originate from 25 countries, with the highest number of applicants coming from Italy, Germany, Spain, and France. Among the participants, 46% are from higher education institutions, 22% from research organisations, and a further 22% from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The list of selected projects is available in the attached file.

In addition to funding, beneficiaries will have access to coaching services tailored to their needs, provided by the EIC Business Acceleration Services, with the aim of fostering the commercial development of their innovations.

EIC Pathfinder: objectives

The EIC Pathfinder programme supports the development of bold ideas for radical new technologies, fostering high-risk, high-gain interdisciplinary collaborations. Funding, of up to €3 million for the Pathfinder Open call and up to €4 million for Pathfinder Challenges, aims to support early-stage technological development (Technology Readiness Levels 1-3), up to proof of concept.

Pathfinder projects may also benefit from additional funding to test the innovation potential of research results or to collaborate on portfolio actions across different projects. Promising results can access further funding through the EIC Transition scheme or the Fast Track to accelerate the market introduction of innovations.

Le candidature per la call EIC Pathfinder Challenges 2024 saranno accettate fino al 16 ottobre 2024 (ore 17:00).
