The ninth economic meeting was held on 3 and 4 May at Monte Verità, Ascona, between the Italian delegation led by Amedeo Teti, Director General for International Trade Policy at the Ministry of Economic Development, and the Swiss delegation led by the Ambassador, Delegate of the Federal Council for Trade Agreements, Head of Bilateral Economic Relations, SECO/EAER.
The agenda included the issues most significantly affecting trade and economic relations between the two countries. Given the imminent entry into force (1 August 2016) of a new tax regarding the requirement for professional qualification certification for businesses providing craft services in the Canton of Ticino, the subject of the new Craft Businesses Act (LIA) was analysed in depth.
The meeting was attended by Regional Councillor Francesca Brianza and the main trade associations, including Confindustria Lombardia.
