On 27 May, the forum "Italy and Singapore relations: best practices and new opportunities in Lombardy" was held at Palazzo Turati in Milan. The event coincided with a visit to Italy by a Singaporean delegation comprising 12 entrepreneurs from the fashion and design sectors, including e-commerce platforms interested in distributing Italian products across Asia (Singapore-India). The meeting provided a networking opportunity for companies from both countries and served to showcase the excellence of Italy, and Lombardy in particular, in the relevant sectors (presentations attached).
The event was attended by approximately one hundred participants and featured close collaboration between Confindustria Lombardia, Assolombarda - Confindustria Milano Monza e Brianza, and the Milan Chamber of Commerce, alongside key local stakeholders (IED, Federimmobiliari, Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda, Invest in Lombardy, Intesa San Paolo, the Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, etc.) to assist Lombardy-based companies in capturing new global market share.
During the seminar, Confindustria Lombardia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IES, the leading Singaporean business association, with the intention of continuing collaborative activities and following up on the event. This will be supported by the Enterprise Europe Network (a European network that funds business support activities to promote internationalisation), of which both organisations are members.
