The IPR Helpdesk portals, an initiative of the European Commission, are now active. They provide professional, free-of-charge guidance and advice on intellectual property (IP) and intellectual property rights (IPR).

The IPR Helpdesk portals offer the following free services:

• Confidential advice: SMEs or their intermediaries can submit enquiries directly to the Helpdesk, gaining access to a pool of experts who provide free, confidential advice in the field.
• Training: The Helpdesks organise training courses on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property.
• Materials: Practical sector-specific guides and training materials relating to intellectual property issues.
• Online services: The online portals provide easy access to the information and services available, such as guides, e-learning modules, scheduled events, and webinars.
