The second call for proposals has been published under the Interreg Europe programme, the interregional cooperation programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The Interreg Europe programme aims to reduce disparities between European regions through cohesion policy. For the 2014-2020 period, cohesion policy focuses on the priorities of the Europe 2020 strategy, with the goal of making European regions more innovative, sustainable and inclusive.
Specifically, Interreg Europe supports regional and local authorities in the 28 participating Member States in developing better policies that can help European regions reach their full potential, leverage their strengths and identify opportunities for economic, social and environmental growth and development.
The Interreg Europe programme is divided into 4 main priority axes:
Eligible applicants include:
- Public authorities
- Bodies governed by public law
- Private non-profit bodies
Participants from the 28 EU Member States (as well as Switzerland and Norway) are eligible, including islands and outermost regions. Proposals must be submitted by a partnership consisting of at least three partners from three different countries, at least two of which must be EU Member States.
