The European Green Vehicles Initiative (EGVI) is a public-private partnership with the primary objective of incentivising the research, development and demonstration of technologies that increase the sustainability and energy efficiency of vehicles. Another objective is to reduce travel using traditional vehicles, favouring instead those based on new technologies such as electric cars, which also has a positive impact in terms of reducing air and noise pollution.
Funding for 2016 amounts to 78.5 million euros.
