The European Commission has recently published the results of the Horizon 2020 European Green Deal Call, a call for proposals aimed at funding research and innovation projects to address the climate crisis, which closed last January.

In line with the objectives of the call, the selected projects provide concrete, innovative solutions to address the main challenges posed by the European Green Deal.

By the closing date, 1,550 projects had been submitted, requesting funding of approximately 16 billion euros, against a budget of approximately 1 billion. Regarding the 73 winning partnerships, 38% of participants are private entities, 24% are research organisations, 20% are universities, 7% are public entities and 11% are other types of organisations. The three most represented countries are Spain, Italy and Germany.
