EIT Manufacturing: call for proposals now open

The 9th of February will see the launch of the call for proposals promoted by EIT Manufacturing, an innovation community established by the European Union to support the development of partnerships and the exchange of knowledge and expertise among multiple stakeholders in order to strengthen the European manufacturing system, stimulating its competitiveness and enhancing its sustainability through dedicated initiatives.

The forthcoming call is aimed at businesses (of all sizes), competence centres and universities that intend to submit innovative projects concerning four themes:

  • Flexible Production Systems for Competitive Manufacturing – advanced analytical tools for data processing and virtual representation of production lines to improve the manufacturing process.
  • Low Environmental Footprint Systems & Circular Economy for Green Manufacturing – digital tools, production processes or sustainable materials that foster the transition towards decarbonisation and/or a circular approach in the manufacturing sector.
  • Digital & Collaborative Solutions for Innovative Manufacturing Ecosystems – technological solutions that increase flexibility and reduce costs, enabling the redesign of workflows and seamless collaboration between machines and operators.
  • Human-machine Co-working for Socially Sustainable Manufacturing– technologies that leverage the mutual strengths of humans and automation, establishing a symbiotic relationship to improve capabilities, skills and the quality of work.

Funding applications may be submitted by consortia of which 50% of the members must be partners of the EIT Manufacturing community; the project may have a duration of 12 or 24 months and a budget between 1.3 and 2 million euros.

A virtual matchmaking event will be held on the 8th and 9th of February, aimed at supporting potential applicants in developing synergies and forming consortia to facilitate the submission of successful projects.

The guidelines are available at the bottom of this notice.
