EIC Transition: statistics published

Sono state recentemente pubblicate le statistiche riguardanti il Programma EIC Transition, nuovo strumento di Horizon Europe, che mira a supportare finanziariamente sia la maturazione e convalida di tecnologie innovative, sia lo sviluppo di un business model che ne consenta la futura commercializzazione.

The EIC Transition is divided into two distinct calls:

  • EIC Transition Open: with no predefined thematic priorities.
  • EIC Transition Challenges: includes two topics identified by the Commission as strategic for the Union's growth: “Medical Technology and Devices - from Lab to Patient” and “Energy harvesting and storage technologies”.

Entrambe le call si sono chiuse lo scorso 22 settembre, registrando una richiesta di finanziamenti pari a circa 775 milioni di euro a fronte di un budget complessivo di circa 100 milioni di euro; 292 i progetti presentati.

In particular, the EIC Transition Open call saw the submission of 221 projects from 35 countries. The most represented are: Italy, accounting for 19% of projects, Spain, with 13%, and Germany with 10%. The funding requested amounts to approximately €583 million, against an allocation of approximately €59 million.

The projects submitted for the EIC Transition Challenges call totalled 71 (45 for the topic “Medical Technology and Devices - from Lab to Patient” and 26 for the topic “Energy harvesting and storage technologies”) from 22 countries. The most represented are: Germany (18% of submitted projects), Israel and Spain (15%). The total funding requested for both topics is approximately €191 million, against a budget of approximately €40 million.
