
The European Commission has announced that the EIC Pathfinder FET-Open cut-off date of 3 June saw a record number of applications, demonstrating the success and widespread reach of this instrument.
A total of 902 applications were received from as many consortia, involving 5,538 participants from over 60 countries, with a total funding request of more than €2.8 billion. The composition of participants shows a clear majority of research institutes and universities, alongside a significant percentage of businesses (25.4%), of which 16.6% are SMEs.
The budget allocated for this call also represents a historic record: €193 million to be awarded to approximately 60-65 projects.
