EIC Accelerator: an additional €150 million budget approved to address the Covid-19 crisis

On 30 April, the European Commission approved an additional budget of €150 million for the EIC Accelerator call. This budget will fund the best start-ups and SMEs that submitted breakthrough innovations in the fight against Covid-19 during the March cut-off.

The Commission will also award Seals of Excellence to high-quality projects that cannot be funded by this €150 million allocation, in order to support their funding from other sources.

For the March cut-off, nearly 4,000 companies submitted projects, of which over 1,000 were Covid-19 related: the winners will be announced at the end of May.
