Please be advised that from 1 March new regulations for exports to Egypt will come into force (Decree 992/2015 and Decree 43/2016), which mandate the registration of companies exporting the products specified in the attached list: agri-food, cosmetics, plastics and processed goods, paper, construction materials, glass, iron and steel, electrical equipment and machinery, furniture, bicycles and motorcycles, horology, lighting equipment, toys, textiles, clothing and footwear. The General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) will establish a register of companies eligible to export to Egypt, and the products specified in the list may only be marketed if manufactured by registered companies or imported by registered distributors. This registration can be completed by submitting a set of documents certifying, among other things, trademark ownership and the company's compliance with international environmental and labour standards.
