Circular economy: applications are now open for the EIT "Raw Materials and Circular Societies" Award

Applications are now open for the “Raw Materials and Circular Societies” award, promoted by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

The award focuses on new business models that support the efficient implementation of the circular economy in Europe. Applications are open to SMEs with innovative projects, start-ups and spin-offs, and individuals or groups of individuals residing in an EU member state.

Proposed ideas must necessarily fall under at least one of the following themes:

  • Repair
  • Reuse
  • Sharing economy/Sharing Platforms
  • Circular products, products designed for circularity (easy to repair, reuse or recycle)

The scheme provides a one-off financial grant as follows:

  • Grant of 30,000 euros for the first-place winner
  • Grant of 20,000 euros for the second-place winner
  • Grant of 10,000 euros for the third-place winner

The deadline for submitting applications is 31 May 2020.
