DEICy 2024: global challenges and opportunities in digital transformation

From 25 to 29 November 2024, the virtual edition of DEICy 2024 Digital Economy, Internet of Things, Cybersecurity will be held in Warsaw (Poland), organised by the Digital Economy Lab at the University of Warsaw.
This international brokerage event serves as a significant opportunity to build a robust network between research and development institutions, industrial partners, businesses and non-governmental organisations, with the aim of deepening the understanding and application of digital transformation within strategic sectors of the economy and society.

The event will feature inspiring plenary sessions, informative workshops and targeted meetings between participants, promising to generate new knowledge and valuable contacts within the context of digital transformation. The rapid acceleration of digitalisation processes is creating new opportunities for businesses, yet simultaneously, unprecedented cybersecurity threats are emerging, which require advanced solutions.

The event will focus on three key areas: digital transformation, the Internet of Things (IoT) and cybersecurity, sectors that represent fundamental pillars of the new digital economy:

  • 1. digital transformation: areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, the digital economy, automation and advanced robotics will be explored. Topics covered will include business models for AI, Industry 4.0, value chain integration and the role of the Digital Twin in production management;
  • 2. Internet of Things (IoT): an overview of the most advanced applications will be provided, such as connected devices, autonomous vehicles, smart technologies for precision agriculture and intelligent energy grid management, with a particular focus on the role of 5G and edge connectivity;
  • 3. cybersecurity: the challenges posed by cybersecurity will be examined in depth, from the increasing risks associated with Industry 4.0 to European and international data protection policies. New solutions will also be explored, such as the use of artificial intelligence for threat detection and the protection of digital businesses.

The event represents a unique opportunity for businesses and research institutions to establish new scientific, technological and commercial collaborations. Participants will be able to present projects, products and services to an international audience, as well as arrange one-to-one meetings with potential partners.

The initiative offers numerous benefits to a wide range of participants, including:

  • suppliers and buyers: the opportunity to meet qualified commercial partners;
  • market and sales managers: the opportunity to find new clients at a European level;
  • product developers: a space to discuss new technologies and innovative solutions;
