
Following the US administration's decision not to renew the temporary exemption granted to the European Union three months ago, customs duties of 25% on steel and 10% on aluminium imported by European companies into the USA have been in effect since 1 June 2018.
The European Commission expects countermeasures to come into force in July to rebalance the damage suffered by the EU, which Brussels estimates at 6.4 billion.
