In spring 2018, the European Commission will present proposals for the definition of funding programmes under the post-2020 multiannual financial framework. Consequently, several public consultations regarding various EU policies have been launched, closing on 8 March. These include

• EU funds in the area of investment, research & innovation, SMEs and single market
• EU funds in the area of post-2020 cohesion

Participation in these surveys is a vital step in contributing to the definition of the European Union's post-2020 budget.

Finally, the report “Europe is back: Accelerating breakthrough innovation”, published yesterday by the European Innovation Council’s High-Level Group of experts, has been released; it contains specific recommendations for the definition of the next EU framework programme for R&I.
