A partnership agreement has been signed between Confindustria and the E4impact Foundation, an institution established in 2015 with the objective of training a new generation of African entrepreneurs to support the launch and growth of businesses in developing countries, and to promote new business relationships between Italy and African nations.
The collaboration will focus on three key areas:
• Private-to-private partnership for co-development: aims to provide support for entrepreneurship in Africa through tutoring and mentoring activities provided by Italian companies to African businesses, with the goal of fostering the growth of local enterprises and the development of new business activities on the ground;
• Social inclusion: involves the creation of professional development pathways for migrants, in collaboration with Italian companies willing to provide technical and managerial training. This will enable migrants to gain experience in these fields, with the aim of launching business activities with their home countries, establishing enterprises in their countries of origin, and promoting the development of female entrepreneurship;
• Social finance: promotes the issuance of green bonds for Africa by one or more financial institutions to raise resources for environmental sustainability investments, as well as social bonds to secure funding for projects or investments with a social impact. These resources will be used to finance both Italian and African businesses.
On the Foundation's website (https://e4impact.org/) it is possible to view the profiles of the more than 540 African companies that are members of the institution and to get in touch to establish partnerships and collaborations.
Attached is a brief description of the First Step Africa initiative, an MBA programme for young African talent, which offers Italian companies the opportunity to fund a feasibility study or business plan in one of the countries where the Foundation operates.
