Bio-based Industries (BBI JU) – 2019 CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Bio-based Industries initiative is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the European Commission and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) aimed at promoting investment in the development of a sustainable European bioeconomy.

The 2019 call, with a deadline of 4 September 2019, includes 21 topics (10 RIA topics, 4 CSAs, 4 DEMOs and 3 FLAGs), with the following strategic orientations:

  • Strategic orientation 1: Foster supply of sustainable biomass feedstock to feed both existing and new value chains
  • Strategic orientation 2: Optimise efficient processing for integrated biorefineries through R&D&I
  • Strategic orientation 3: Develop innovative bio-based products for identified market applications
  • Strategic orientation 4: Create and accelerate the market-uptake of bio-based products and applications

The total budget is approximately 135 million euros.

The National Information Day will be held on 14 May 2019 at Sapienza University in Rome, during which the new 2019 work plan of the BBI programme will be presented.

The event is organised by: APRE on behalf of the MIUR and in close collaboration with Professor Fabio Fava, National Representative to the States Representatives Group BBI JU
