The first call for the “Innovation Fund Large Scale Projects” has been published, established under the Innovation Fund, one of the world’s largest programmes for the demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies.

Tramite questa prima call verranno erogati finanziamenti per 1 miliardo euro a progetti su larga scala incentrati su tecnologie pulite per contribuire ad affrontare efficacemente i rischi legati alla commercializzazione e alla dimostrazione su vasta scala. Questi finanziamenti saranno strumentali a far raggiungere il mercato alle tecnologie selezionate. Per i progetti promettenti ma non ancora maturi per il mercato è previsto un bilancio separato di 8 milioni di euro, funzionale all'assistenza per lo sviluppo dei progetti.

Please note that only projects with capital expenditure exceeding €7.5 million are eligible for this call. The Innovation Fund will support up to 60% of the additional capital and operational costs related to innovation. Up to 40% of the grant may be awarded based on predefined milestones before the project is fully operational.

Projects will be evaluated on their potential to avoid greenhouse gas emissions, their innovation potential, their financial and technical maturity, and their potential for scalability and cost-efficiency.

The call is open to projects in eligible sectors across all EU Member States, Iceland, and Norway. Funding may be used in combination with other public funding initiatives, such as State aid or other EU funding programmes.
