
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published the Calls for Proposals for Italy-Israel Joint R&D Projects, defined within the framework of the activities provided for by the Agreement on Industrial, Scientific and Technological Research and Development Cooperation between Italy and Israel, with a deadline of 16 January 2017. In particular, please note
- The Israeli partner must be an R&D company;
- The Italian partner may be either an industrial entity conducting R&D activities or a non-industrial entity that must be supported by an industrial entity acting as an associate.
Approved projects may be funded for up to 50% of documented research and development costs.
- Protein folding and protein-protein interactions: applications to metabolic diseases;
- Development and implementation of new geophysical methods for
a) improving earthquake prediction
b) discovery and exploration of underground natural resources (gas, oil, minerals)
c) environmental monitoring of natural water bodies (aquifers, lakes, seas).
In this case, the Italian partner must be a university or a research centre/institute; the Israeli partner must be a research institute or university recognised under Israeli law.
Projects must have a maximum duration of 2 years and may receive financial support of up to 50% of research expenses, to a maximum of €100,000 per party . The Ministries intend to fund 8 joint research projects.
