Horizon 2020 AquaticPollutants call for proposals

The AquaticPollutants call for proposals has been published, aimed at supporting research and innovation projects that establish integrated and cross-sectoral approaches to risk management for human health, combining the research areas of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs), pathogens and antimicrobial resistance. The total budget for the call is 22.6 million euros.

Proposals must take into account the entire water cycle, from the source through river basins and finally to estuaries and oceans.

The call funds project proposals across three themes:

  • Measurement: environmental behaviour of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs), pathogens and antimicrobial-resistant bacteria in aquatic ecosystems
  • Assessment: risk assessment and management of CECs, pathogens and antimicrobial-resistant bacteria from aquatic ecosystems (inland, coastal and marine) to human health and the environment
  • Taking actions: strategies to reduce CECs, pathogens and antimicrobial-resistant bacteria in aquatic ecosystems (inland, coastal and marine)

Regarding the submission of applications, two deadlines have been set: the first on 16 April 2020 for pre-proposals and the second on 14 August 2020 for full proposals.
