Confindustria Lombardia is supporting the "Confindustria System Mission to Argentina and Brazil", led by President Emanuele Orsini. The initiative highlights the opportunities created by the recent EU-Mercosur free trade agreement, which introduces tariff reductions, the liberalisation of public procurement, and access to high-potential supply chains for European and Italian businesses.

According to the Confindustria Study Centre, the untapped potential for Italian exports to Argentina and Brazil exceeds €1 billion, with long-term growth estimated at a further €6 billion. Target sectors include: agribusiness, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure, digital technologies, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, industrial machinery, and energy/mining equipment.
