Description

The Market & Internationalisation Technical Committee of Confindustria Lombardia, as part of the Enterprise Europe Network activities, is organising an update webinar dedicated to the new regional Convention on pan-Euro-Mediterranean (PEM) preferential rules of origin.

Following a lengthy revision process shared among the participating countries, the revised PEM Convention entered into force on 1 January 2025. During the transitional period, which ended on 31 December 2025, companies were able to apply both the old and new rules in parallel. From 1 January 2026, the updated rules apply exclusively throughout the PEM area, subject to specific exceptions.

The changes introduced aim to simplify and increase the flexibility of the criteria for determining preferential origin, with the goal of facilitating trade between European companies and those in the Mediterranean and Balkan regions, reducing operational burdens and promoting access to tariff benefits.

The webinar will provide a regulatory framework and an operational analysis to support companies in the correct application of the new provisions.
