Confindustria Lombardia and Cariplo Factory for the future of technical education. Project ASSIST: the 10 technical profiles most in demand by the labour market presented
Milan, 17 May 2017 – School-work alternation, matching supply and demand, and technical education: these were the key themes at the centre of the conference organised by Confindustria Lombardia and Cariplo Factory, 'An ASSIST for the development of Human Capital', held today in Milan at their Via Bergognone headquarters. During the conference, the results of the "A.S.S.I.S.T. - Systemic Actions for the Development of Technical Education" project were presented. This project was created and funded as part of the activities envisaged by the three-year framework agreement signed by Confindustria Lombardia and Fondazione Cariplo, and implemented in collaboration with the territorial associations of Confindustria Lombardia.
For Confindustria Lombardia President Alberto Ribolla, “today’s event is part of the actions launched in our #Lombardia2030 strategic plan regarding the centrality of Human Capital, aimed at fostering the connection between the education system and the business world, and the development of strategic skills within the labour market. The results of the ASSIST project highlight a cutting-edge Lombardy training model, particularly in terms of Education 4.0: the impact of Industry 4.0 on employment will indeed be significant; we will see professional figures and roles disappear, replaced by new, more specialised professions and tasks. Companies must be able to rely on qualified and competent human capital, which will entail an epochal metamorphosis of the world of education, and Lombardy must be ready,” concluded Ribolla.
“The ASSIST project fully aligns with the logic of Cariplo Factory, which was created with the goal of generating professional opportunities for young people by promoting the digital skills the market requires through a comprehensive training offer, and by fostering the birth and development of innovative companies,” explained Renato Cerioli, President of Cariplo Factory. “Supporting human capital and valuing young people are pillars for reviving business competitiveness, especially in these years marked by rising youth unemployment and a mismatch between the supply and demand of skills. Cariplo Factory has seen school-work alternation as a strategic factor for cultivating student talent, especially at such an important moment in their personal growth.”
The figures for the ASSIST Project are as follows:
In addition to the presidents of Confindustria Lombardia and Cariplo Factory, who introduced the day's proceedings, and the project leaders who presented the results of ASSIST, the conference was attended by Oscar Pasquali, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Minister of Education, University and Research, Giovanni Brugnoli, Vice President for Human Capital at Confindustria, Valentina Aprea, Regional Councillor for Education, Training and Labour for the Lombardy Region, and Delia Campanelli, Director of the Regional School Office for Lombardy.
