SME Instrument: Lombardy-based Tensive among the winners

Among the phase 1 winners is the Lombardy-based start-up Tensive, supported by the Enterprise Europe Network.

The EASME (Executive Agency for SMEs) has announced the results for the April and May 2016 deadlines for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument.

The start-up Tensive is one of two Lombardy-based companies, and among 22 Italian firms, to be awarded funding under Phase 1 of the SME Instrument programme – receiving a grant of €50,000 – as part of the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme for the 3 May 2016 deadline. This was achieved through Regenera, a project that enables the development of innovative prostheses aimed at providing natural breast reconstruction or augmentation using a biodegradable synthetic biomaterial manufactured with internal microchannels.

Confindustria Lombardia, as part of the activities of Simpler - Enterprise Europe Network, supported the company in reviewing the project, as well as providing assistance during the proposal submission and grant preparation phase. The service was delivered through the Europe-Cluster LSS Helpdesk, launched in collaboration with the Lombardy Life Sciences Cluster.
