Description

Can a business truly be competitive if its logistics are not?

This question is the foundation of “Welfare on the Road”, a Manifesto developed by the Confindustria Technical Group for Transport and Logistics, which proposes a new industrial policy approach where manufacturing, transport, and logistics are considered parts of a single competitive system.

In a manufacturing-based country with a strong export orientation, the ability to produce must be matched by the ability to move goods efficiently. Logistics thus plays a strategic role in business competitiveness, directly impacting the efficiency, timing, quality, and sustainability of supply chains.

The Manifesto addresses one of the sector's primary challenges, the shortage of drivers, and identifies 10 voluntary and immediately applicable actions to improve flow organisation, safety, digitalisation, services, and the quality of the relationship between businesses and carriers.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for industry and road haulage representatives to discuss the future of supply chain collaboration, with the aim of fostering more integrated logistics that support the competitiveness of the production system.

Programme

The event will open with introductory remarks from Paolo Streparava, President of Confindustria Brescia, followed by a speech from Leopoldo Destro, Confindustria Vice President for Transport, Logistics, and the Tourism Industry, focusing on the Manifesto and the new industrial policy approach.

This will be followed by the roundtable discussion “Industry and road haulage: a more integrated and competitive supply chain”, featuring representatives from the manufacturing and road haulage sectors, our President Giuseppe Pasini and Riccardo Morelli, President of ANITA.

The proceedings will be concluded by Julia Righettini, Vice President of the Mobility, Transport, and Logistics Sector at Confindustria Brescia.

A welcome coffee will be served prior to the meeting.
